Honestly, I would like to be a country rat. Well, the important theme here is "Rural villagers vs Urbanites"; "Country rat vs City rat".
Firstly, I shall talk about the Rural villagers, or in other words, the country rats.
1) Country rats are self dependant. They do not need to depend on anyone to provide them with food. They learn life skills, catch their own food and are self sustainable.
2) They are close to nature. They breathe fresh air everyday and have a wide, open sea
3) They live a slow-paced life, free from stress, and naturally live a longer life.
However, look at the urbanites, or the city rats.
1) The city rats requires people to provide themselves with food.
2) They live in a place where there are tall skyscrapers everywhere, you can hear a cacophony of honking horns, and clouds of poisonous, toxic gases emitted from the vehicles on the street.
3) They live a hectic lifestyle, where most are too busy trying to earn those metal discs and squarish paper to care for anyone injured on the street.
With the above points, my answer is obvious. I would rather be a stress free, independent individual, living close to nature, breathing fresh air everyday, than be a stressed out, heartless, dependant individual, living in a polluted and cramped environment. What's more, even if you have a lot of money, if your food supplier (be it meat or vegetables) refuse to sell you food, wouldn't you be starving to death? All that work for nothing?
On the other hand, if you were a country rat, you wouldn't fret about not having food to eat--there are plenty awaiting your catch (fish) and awaiting your hands to grow (vegetables)! Furthermore, if you look at it more carefully, the poor in the city are much worst than the rural villagers. They have no money=no food. Whereas the villagers? No money=plenty of food.
Here, I conclude that being a country rat is definitely better than being a city rat.
